Thanks to new UK rules, changing broadband providers is simpler than ever. We explain how it works and how we support you.
Switching broadband used to be complicated. We’ve made it simple.
Thanks to Ofcom’s new One Touch Switch process, moving your broadband to Home Unity is now straightforward, protected and hassle-free. We manage the switch for you, keep you connected, and make sure there’s no unnecessary disruption.
You don’t need to speak to your current provider. You don’t need to cancel anything yourself. We take care of it.
Start by choosing the broadband speed that fits your home. If you’re unsure, we’ll help you choose what actually makes sense based on how you use the internet.
Once you place your order, we contact your current broadband provider on your behalf. This is part of Ofcom’s One Touch Switch process and applies to most UK broadband services.
We’ll let you know your confirmed switch date in advance. Your service switches over on the day, and your old service is cancelled once your new service is ready.
Switching should feel calm and straightforward. That’s exactly how we handle it.

Do I need to contact my current provider?
No. Once you place your order, we contact your current provider for you and manage the switch as part of the One Touch Switch process.
Will my broadband be interrupted?
In most cases, no. The aim is to keep your connection live during the switch. If a short interruption is unavoidable, we’ll explain this clearly in advance.
Will I be charged by my old provider after switching?
Under Ofcom rules, your old provider should stop billing you once the switch is complete. If any final charges apply, these should be clearly explained by them.
Can my current provider stop me from switching?
No. Your current provider cannot block your switch or delay it unfairly. Switching is protected by Ofcom rules.
What if something goes wrong during the switch?
If anything doesn’t go to plan, we’ll work directly with your current provider to resolve it. You won’t be left to chase multiple companies.
Does this apply to all broadband types?
The One Touch Switch process applies to most UK broadband services, including full fibre and part-fibre connections. If your service is different, we’ll explain how the switch works before you order.
How long does switching take?
Switching times vary depending on your location and network, but most switches are completed within 1-2 weeks. We’ll always give you a clear timeline.
